Hello film community members, family and friends -

We are now asking you to send TESTIMONIALS to the Michigan Film Office. <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>

The new Director is leading a battle to win hearts in the legislature's committees and they are working on ROI numbers. So NOW is the time to send your experience working on incentive projects. Write a few paragraphs detailing:

What you do

A couple projects worked on

The kinds of things you have been able to afford (House, Items, Education, Tools)

Your City

Also please forward MPA <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.> any response you've received from your legislator in answer to your contact with them.  If you've spoken to them directly, please let me know who they are, where they stand on the current incentive and the date (or thereabout) that you spoke with them.

A list is being compiled of Michigan's Representatives of who supports us and who doesn't. This way we know upfront of who's mind can potentially be changed by contacting them and giving them information they may not be aware of.

Thanks for your help and again, I hope you're well and life is good.

Happy Spring!

Please include Their District, Your Zipcode and Their affiliation.

Michigan has been a production center for over 70 years creating a base of workers for corporate, broadcast commercials and films. The strong ‘work ethic’ of Michigan crews is becoming well known across the United States.

On that foundation stands an infrastructure of stages and facilities that had been failing due to changes in the world’s economy. Our goal is, and has been to re build and grow that industry, to encourage diversification of the economy, business investments and the creation of jobs. THAT was the purpose of Michigan’s film and digital media program.

The issues involved here are not partisan.  Republicans and Democrats have worked together to develop the program since 2007 when Republican leadership, working across the aisle made it  into law.  We want to present an overview of misconceptions and the benefits of the program and the film industry for Michigan.
